TTE® ACTIVE STABLE
The construction principle for active and open stables
A herd of horses is travelling through the steppe. They brave heat, rain and frost and cover kilometre after kilometre in search of food and clean, sparkling water.
This is what a species-appropriate horse life looks like.
The active stable concept is becoming increasingly popular and enables horse owners to keep horses as nature intended. At the same time, it is an economical way of keeping horses.
Decisive for successful active stabling: good planning and the right surface.

TTE® MultidrainPLUS
The robust paddock grid
The TTE® paddock panels are connected horizontally and vertically with the aid of solid pins. It is not possible to break off individual paddock plates. In addition, the 2:1 format and a total weight of 27 kg/m², in combination with the intelligent bond, create an extremely load-bearing snowshoe effect.
This enables load distribution over a wide area, allowing areas in your active or open stable to be built easily and made level with a significantly reduced substructure.

Mechanical manure removal is a great labour-saving measure and is indispensable from a cost-benefit perspective. This makes it all the more important that the surface can be driven on with heavy equipment.
Our aim: to enable mechanical manure removal while minimising the substructure on the entire surface.

The active stable concept
The active stable and open stable concept is considered to be the most horse-friendly form of husbandry, as it imitates the natural living environment of horses in the steppe.
If you want to understand this successful concept, you first need to understand what makes horses tick.
If you want to understand this successful concept, you first need to understand what makes horses tick.
Whether it's an icy winter or a warm and humid summer, horses are at home in all climate zones and can adapt to a wide range of weather conditions thanks to their thermoregulation. The more often horses are outside, the better they adapt.
Horses spend around 60% of the day and 30% of the night eating and divide their feed into regular small meals. The active stable offers optimum conditions for these natural eating habits and thus promotes the physical and mental well-being of the animals.
Horses never live alone in the wild. They need the social structure of a stable herd in order to learn social behaviour from the older horses. At the same time, young horses ensure that older horses remain active and healthy.
When horses graze naturally, they move for at least half of the day and cover long distances. In an active stable, horses can move around the clock and are therefore more balanced and healthier.
