FAQ - frequently asked questions
Yes, the Nürtingen University of Applied Sciences has analysed the cost-effectiveness of BELMONDO® stall mats. According to the calculations, amortisation over 10 years results in a cost advantage for the rubber mats of approx. 300 € per horse stall and year.
Equipping a stall with the BELMONDO® Basic stall mat will cost you approx. 500 €. The purchase costs pay for themselves very quickly due to the labour and bedding savings.
Yes, we do not recommend litterless management. The rubber mat acts as thermal insulation, provides pleasant softness and shock absorption and is very slip-resistant. However, sufficiently absorbent bedding is required to retain moisture.
However, according to scientific studies, the use of stable mats can save around 30% on bedding.
Only the fine joints between the panels are permeable to water. However, the likelihood of liquid getting under the mats is extremely low if you follow the installation instructions and use sufficiently absorbent bedding that absorbs urine and other liquids. Fine litter particles seal the gaps between the mats.
If you want to clean the box particularly thoroughly, you can easily remove the mats thanks to their handy format and clean the floor under the mats.
On unpaved outdoor areas, we recommend TTE® softPAVE, which is water-permeable and permanently level.
