Applications

The TTE® construction principle is categorised into greened and paved areas and varies according to the intensity of use.

Parking spaces

Parking spaces
Parking spaces
Parking spaces are a calling card and the first impression customers and visitors receive. Parking installations can be used as an opportunity to create green islands and seepage surfaces in urban areas because of the low intensity of use. With the TTE® system from HÜBNER-LEE, it is possible to create parking areas and access roads that are 100% permeable. This eliminates both stormwater fees as well as the costs for a drainage system.

Lawn and paved areas can easily be combined in different ways. This also allows for small-scale structures – such as markings or sidewalks. Pictographs, for example, can also be integrated. The use and frequency of use can be significantly increased by adding more pavers. Not only the parking spaces themselves, but also their access roads can be made resilient and permeable thanks to TTE® PAVE.

Fire department access road

The load-bearing TTE® composite plates are approved for fire department access roads and fire department parking areas and comply with DIN 14090 “Areas for the fire brigade on premises”. HÜBNER-LEE’s solution provides you with secure reinforcement to ensure fire safety, which at the same time integrates inconspicuously into existing green areas.

With the TTE® GREEN system variant, it is possible to design areas with vibrant turf. In general, no edging is required for this, creating a smooth transition to adjacent green areas. Sidewalks within the fire access road can easily be integrated with TTE® PAVE.

Service road

With TTE® , the extent of soil sealing in residential areas can be reduced significantly. This is because it allows service and access roads to be realised with a fully permeable design. This saves on costs and effort for sewage systems and drainage installations. The reason for this is that the rainwater is stored entirely in the structure itself. This cost-effective and sustainable construction principle is also a welcome option for residents, who usually have to contribute to the development costs.

TTE® directPAVE also makes it possible to lay paved surfaces by machine, significantly reducing the time required. This is yet another advantage, as residents have to live with the inconvenience of a construction site for a much shorter period of time.

Logistics and storage areas

Logistics and storage areas
Logistics and storage areas
Industrial parks usually occupy a large area of land. Due to the high loads, access roads and storage areas are usually soil-sealed. TTE® is approved for heavy traffic. The TTE® PAVE 3 construction principle reliably absorbs shear forces and point loads from trucks and forklifts. HÜBNER-LEE thus offers a solution for creating logistics and storage areas that are robust, yet permeable. As a result, stormwater fees and additional infiltration systems can be eliminated entirely.

Floating root bridge

Floating root bridge
Floating root bridge
Classic root bridges reliably protect the roots of existing trees, but they are complex to install and expensive to manufacture. Hence, this solution is only used to comply with tree protection regulations and only rarely over large areas. In this case as well, the TTE® system provides protection for tree roots against compressive loads by distributing the load over a wide area. The slim, highly permeable structure of this “floating root bridge” ensures an exchange of gases in and a supply of water to the root zone. Soil air, soil water and soil life have a demonstrable and highly favourable effect on the root climate. At the same time, implementation is inexpensive and simple. In most cases, no hand excavation or other work in the root zone is required. A wide range of surface designs is possible, as the load distribution plates can also be used as a base course for conventional paving and slabs or gravel surfaces in addition to TTE® GREEN, TTE® PAVE or TTE® GRAVEL.

Event areas

Event areas
Event areas
Event areas are often required for festivals and events. Very large areas are usually required in order to provide sufficient space for rides, tents and visitors. Because these event areas are only required on a temporary basis, solutions involving soil sealing are not sustainable. Furthermore, gray asphalt and concrete landscapes are visually undesirable. With TTE®, these areas can be designed to be permeable and with greening, allowing ecological functions to be maintained between uses and the creation of a recreational space. The realisation of multifunctional areas is also possible – e.g. for use as a parking space at the same time. With TTE®, the concept can be realised easily and individually thanks to the simple combination of various backfills.

Automobile lots

The automotive industry requires vast parking areas to store vehicles temporarily. Paving them should be as easy, quick and affordable as possible. At the same time, however, there are stringent requirements for clean, preferably dust-free surfaces, flexibility and environmental compatibility. The sustainable, permeable construction principle reduces the impact on nature to a minimum, which facilitates the approval of such large parking areas. It also saves on additional infiltration or drainage facilities and stormwater fees. Particularly on leased land, the slim TTE® structure offers not only a short construction time, but also easy removal without leaving behind any residue. The durable system can be removed without any damage and reused elsewhere for added value.

Footpaths and bicycle lanes

Reinforced paving can be implemented easily and as a permeable surface with TTE® PAVE, offering passers-by and cyclists clean and comfortable paving. Gravel surfaces can also be efficiently reinforced and stabilised with TTE®. This significantly increases their load-bearing capacity and prevents unevenness and material displacement. Maintenance and upkeep costs are reduced accordingly. This solution offers a natural look thanks to the gravel surface course. Thanks to its minimal construction height, TTE® is ideal as a floating root bridge for building paths in the root zone of existing trees.
