TTE® Artificial Turf Pitch
Sustainable & modular construction concept

TTE® is an intelligent base course, separating and drainage layer that guarantees a high level of evenness and quick drainage. The system structure consisting of modular layers enables a slim profile along with quick and easy installation. Sustainability is at the heart of all phases of the product life cycle

Load-distributing composite plate
combines base course and drainage

Conventional construction principles give rise to high construction costs due to the usual replacement of the soil, as well as base course layers and drainage. The compacted structure is only permeable to water to a limited extent, and heavy precipitation needs to be drained away via drainage systems. A high load-bearing capacity of the soil is not required for the players, but primarily to withstand the load from heavy construction machinery such as pavers during the construction phase.
Our load-distributing composite plates with a frictionally locked linking system have been proven to be able to replace the classic gravel base course. In addition, they eliminate the need to replace the soil and offer a high level of evenness.

The storage cavities in the grids create a drainage surface with a capacity of approx. 50 l/m², which absorbs and temporarily stores the rainwater directly under the artificial turf. This ensures that the turf can be played on regardless of the weather.

The dynamic structure enables ideal force absorption and rebound, as well as favourable ball behaviour. Protection against re-compaction of the surface ensures playing comfort and lasting quality. This system permanently ensures drainage, evenness and constant surface characteristics.
Our load-distributing TTE® artificial turf pitch is a solution for all ground surfaces, be it for new construction projects, the conversion of natural turf to artificial turf or hard surface courts to artificial turf. TTE® offers many advantages, particularly for non-homogeneous surfaces with poor load-bearing properties, high groundwater levels, contaminated sites and in protected areas.

The snowshoe effect

Frictionally locked connections and the high pressure and deformation stability of the TTE® elements distribute loads over a wide area, ensuring permanent evenness without a base course.

All-weather pitch

The high infiltration capacity of the subsoil thanks to low compaction enables playability regardless of the weather conditions. Water from precipitation is discharged directly into the surface drainage system and seeps into the ground with a time delay, or drains off horizontally.
  • Rapid discharge into surface drainage
  • Permanently permeable to water thanks to low compaction

Long-term playing comfort

A dynamic structure allows for ideal force absorption, low rebound and good ball behaviour. Protection against re-compaction of the surface ensures playing comfort and lasting quality.

Sustainable building materials – for a responsible approach to the environment and groundwater

Despite a paradigm shift in the construction of artificial turf pitches, classic construction principles for on-site installation continue to rely on bonded SBR granules for the elastic layer or elastic base course. Due to the hazardous materials they contain, these are of concern for our soil and groundwater. Furthermore, the separation and disposal of mixtures and composites made of natural and synthetic materials is highly problematic. The backfilling of artificial turf with rubber granulates is rightly criticised due to microplastic emissions.
Our TTE® artificial turf not only offers a sustainable solution in the construction phase, but also in the form of environmentally conscious and environmentally friendly material components. For example, we use only natural sand or sand/natural cork mixtures for the backfill of the turf. A prefabricated elastic mat made of recycled PE foam is harmless for the environment and allows for quick and easy installation without the need for complex machinery. The TTE® system is made entirely using post-consumer recycled waste (recycling bag / Green Dot) from domestic households, making an important contribution to closing material cycles and reducing CO2 emissions – paving the way to a sustainable future. Independent bodies have confirmed its environmental neutrality. The TTE® system is currently being verified for an EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) by Institut Bauen und Umwelt e. V. (IBU), which maps the carbon footprint over the entire product cycle. All system components can easily be dismantled without leaving any residue behind, and most of them can be recycled or even reused.
